This project is currently at Phase 2 Option Selection. As outlined in TII’s Project Management Guidelines (PE-PMG-02047, July 2022) the purpose of Phase 2 is to examine various route options to determine an Emerging Preferred Route Corridor. During Phase 2 feasible options have been examined and their costs, benefits and effects on the environment have been interrogated.
Following this assessment, an Emerging Preferred Route Corridor has been identified and a third Public Consultation is being held to inform stakeholders and the public of the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor.
The Options Selection Process was a two-stage process:
Stage 1 – Project Appraisal Matrix
- The [route] options advanced from Phase 1 were evaluated by undertaking an appraisal of the quantifiable and non-quantifiable impacts of these options against specific criteria in accordance with PAG Unit: 13.0 Appraisal of Active Modes.
Stage 2- Preferred Route Option
- After completion of Stage 1 (Project Appraisal Matrix), an Emerging Preferred Route Corridor for the project has been selected. The Emerging Preferred Route Corridor is subject to a third Public Consultation.
